Environmental Quality Mark

Food with the environment in mind

Try lamb grazed on limestone dales. Enjoy beef from cattle grazing hay meadows rich in species such as oxeye daisy, hay rattle and providing breeding and feeding habitat for skylark, brown hare and butterflies. Look for ice cream, butter, cheese, cream and milk from dairy farms which manage their field edges, woodlands and streams to benefit wildlife. Discover honey made by the bees that thrive on the local wildflowers and heather.

Feel free to ask these producers and farmers how they make a special contribution to the Peak District environment – they will be happy to tell you!

The Peak District Environmental Quality Mark has been achieved by each of these businesses for their local produce and for their demonstrated commitment to conserving the Peak District environment.
