White Wines
1. The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) £12.45
This excellent Marlborough from the Awatere Valley combines the sumptuous flavours of melon and lychees underpinned by a steely, mineral vibrancy.
2. Errazuriz Chardonnay (Chile) £8.60
The world’s most popular white grape variety used here to create a moderately oaked wine with rich, buttery undertones.
3. Les Pentes Douces Petit Chablis (France) £12.45
Fresh tasting and crisply dry this wine will delight lovers of flinty, dry wines.
4. Bougrier Chenin Blanc (France) £7.80
Fruity, zestful flavours, evocative of long summer evenings punting on the Loire with your loved one.
5. Prima Gusto Pinot Grigio (Italy) £8.75
A youthful, zingy wine, excellent for accompanying fish dishes.
6. El Furioso Albillo (Spain) £6.25
Long gone are the days of poor Spanish wines. From Northern Spain comes a fresh, clean wine redolent with peaches and spices counter balanced by a refreshing dryness.
Red Wines
7. Knappstein Shiraz (Australia) £13.25
This Shiraz is pure delight (and as a Shiraz drinker I don’t please easily). A blockbuster of fruit and tannins!
8. Matahiwi Pinot Noir (New Zealand) £14.00
This difficult and capricious grape variety has found a second home in New Zealand. Heady flavours of plums and cherries are backed up with a sensuous, smokey follow through.
9. Errazuriz Merlot (Chile) £11.70
Chile has really reached world class with the Merlot grape. Luscious, soft and bursting with fruit, this wine must be sampled Rarely available elsewhere.
10. Los Cardos Malbec (Argentina) £9.35
This rich blackberry tasting wine hits the palate. If you have not tried an Argentinian wine before, now’s the time.
11. Obikwa Pinotage (South Africa) £6.65
I had to recheck my sums – a fruity medium wine of tremendous balance for this price. A steal!
12. Etoile Filante (France) £9.75
The French at their best – the Cabernet Sauvignon grape seducing the senses with fruit and tannin and a hint of mint. Forget those historical conflicts - a wine to be savoured.
Please note
All wines are offered subject to availability. In the event of any wine being out of stock, one of equal quality and provenance will be substituted.
