A large car park behind the hotel, operated by Derbyshire Dales District Council with toilet facilities including one suitable for disabled people (RADAR key). The sloping car park is surfaced in tarmac with a few potholes; one bay is reserved for disabled parking. The pay and display parking is free to blue badge holders. The toilets are near the entrance.

Picnic tables are provided on a grassy bank near the top of the site - the access is fairly smooth but sometimes muddy. There are five seats and two picnic tables in a small triangle of grass halfway up the car park, overlooking Monsal Dale and the viaduct, where it is possible for less active people to sit and enjoy one of the finest views in the Peak District. Another seat and four picnic tables are located at the top of the car park on the right with views over the dale.

Information board on lectern near top viewpoint.
