White Lodge Car Park
Map ref: SK 170706
Car park, toilets and picnic site close to the A6 at the bottom of Taddington Dale, pay and display, free to blue badge holders.
This is a pleasant place to sit but the walks from here are all steep or rocky.
The car park has a tarmac access road (max. gradient 1:18) with stone surfaced parking bays (slope towards road of up to 1:15); the surface is reasonably smooth with occasional potholes.
There is a gently sloping, tarmac surfaced parking area close to the toilets at the top of the site with a maximum gradient of 1:11. The composting toilets have one suitable for disabled people for which a RADAR key is needed; as there is no water on site there are no washing facilities.
Picnic tables are provided on the steep grass slope above the car park; the one near the toilets might accommodate a wheelchair user at the end although there is a 50mm kerb to negotiate.
