Proposals Map

The Proposals Map has two main functions:

i)

Policy coverage
It shows where site or area specific policies apply.

ii)

Proposals and safeguarding
It shows where development proposals are likely to go ahead during the Local Plan period. Where the principle of a specific development has been accepted but there is no immediate likelihood of it being carried out, the land may be safeguarded against other uses.

The Proposals Map has two sections:

i)

a 1:30,000 scale map of the National Park, split into 22 folded A3 sheets.

ii)

Inset maps, where policies or proposals need to be shown in greater detail. These are mostly at a scale of 1:5,000 (some at 1:2,500 or 1:7,500) so that a high level of detail can be achieved. The location of inset maps is indicated on the Proposals Map main sheets. The inset maps are bound in alphabetical order.

Policies which apply throughout the National Park are not shown on the Proposals Map. They are listed below:

Local Plan Settlements (Policies LC2, LC3, LS1) and Recreation Zone 3 Settlements (Policy LR1) are identified on the relevant inset map. However, the following Local Plan Settlements do not have inset maps:
