The Peak District is well suited to use by cyclists and boasts a wide range of traffic-free trails which crisscross the national park. These trails are strictly reserved for cyclists, walkers and horse riders and provide miles of flat, even terrain suitable for cycling.
Local transport links to the Peak District from surrounding cities also allow cyclists to enter without cars and the Park authority has invested heavily in improving the Peak Districts cycling network. The Park authority also runs a number of cycling centres were bikes can be hired and equipment can be bought.
